Summary

  • I must say I learned so much that I would call myself a "web 2.guru", with still some resignation that I have a lot to learn.
  • Yes it met my expectations and more.
  • Yes she did but what happened to commentary on my blog after the 3rd posting...?????
  • No challenging parts.
  • Very good with the self directed learning model, but caution that if I was really new to computers I would have been lost...but you did have the walk in hours.
  • Most definitively would I recommend this course.
Thank you for a wonderful summer!

Task # 9

Hi!
This is my address to the library thing.

http://www.librarything.com/profile/mariabengtssonmay

This would be a great site for book clubs and reading groups.
I like the ease of finding books and get them rated.

Not sure if this is a site I would use in the future, but it was ok.

Task # 8

A little late on this one.  Too busy on other things.
I like the Google Reader very much and realized that there are many other things on the Google page I can see.  For sure I will use this and many other Google items.
I subscribed to the following news feeds:
dn.se (Swedish national newspaper)
cbc. ca
and RSS Flode (Swedish local paper)

I checked it out today and I like how it is so easy to access, instead of always going into the newspapers themselves.

Task # 7

I would bring my Swedish Meatballs, from my maternal grandmother's recipe book.  It is yummy.

It was easy because your instructions were very good. A few years ago, at teacher's college, I had to use Wiki so this was a very good refresher.

If I was working on a project with my fellow teachers at school, I would use this as a cool tool to communicate with all involved.

Task # 5

I searched Canada on the search engine for Picasa.  I couldn't detect any tags that came with the picture but if there was I would think Whistler, Skiing, Inukshuk, Winter, Canada, would be some appropriate tags.
I have been aware of Picasa before but not gone into it and figured it out.  I will work more on it in the future and try to get my pictures organized in them.

Task # 4

I have always thought Twitter not to be very usefull and just another tool to keep track of.  But I realized after working with it, and following interesting people on it, it could be very useful.....to a point.
Again, social networking, do we really need it?  I have facebook and do not feel I need Twitter, but to be able to follow Peter Mansbridge and a few other people without posting on it myself I can see it as being an ok tool to work with.

Task # 3

This was trickier because I had a hard time finding "add a bookmark", but I finally figured it out.
I bookmarked the following:

  • dn.se (Swedish newspaper)
  • cbc.ca
  • recept.nu (all the delicious tv shows I am watching while in Sweden has a combined recipe site)
I tagged my bookmarks ( and this is where I was a bit confused and I only learned by doing) with recipes, news newspaper, Swedish etc.

I also highlighted something from cbc.ca news regarding the heatwave you are having.  SOooooooo happy I am here with 20-25C weather all the time. ...and no humidity.

Yes, I would like to use this site.  Never heard of it before so thank you for introducing it to us.
Skål! and have a happy weekend.

Task # 2

Youtube experience.
I have always liked youtube and find it a fascinating site.
Streaming has become popular because of fame and fortune.  Knowing you can post something on Youtube and the world can see it is pretty incredible.  Also very frightening!  It is can also be used for educational purposes and you can find instructions for everyday things.
Yes I will continue to use Youtube.

Here is my URL for a funny Youtube video; "The Duck Song"

Task # 1

Not sure if the first blog worked so let's do this again.
I am now following Betty Blogger from Sweden, and hopefully my mother's computer will cooperate.
On a scale from 1-10 what is my current knowledge.....well I will put myself as a 7, but after taking this course I might realize that I was not so high.  We have to wait and see.  I did customize my blog and I did import a picture of me and my daughter.
Hope you like it Betty!!!
Sincerely from Sweden!
